Witte Words
Greetings families!
We have been learning a lot this week! I have started sitting at the teacher table and teaching in small groups!! WAHOO! I will have their individual reading levels here very soon.
I am sending home some unfinished work today in their green Thursday folders. I am going to start doing that. They have blue “unfinished work” folders that they work on throughout the day if they finish early but some of the folders are getting pretty full! They would be very helpful to work on at home.
Our 2021-2022 PreK-12 San Tan Yearbooks are on sale now. It will include a 15th year commemorative section and options for students and families. Begin planning and designing yours now. Visit our storefront link here: https://store.shopyearbook.com/santan-yb
We are always accepting extra snacks and water bottles
Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes! It was a great day!
In ELA: we are working on the initial /k/ sound and when it is a c (when a, o or u follows ex: cat, cob, and cub) or a k (when i or e follows, ex: kite and kelp) and the final /k/ sound is either a ck (when there is a short vowel ex: back), ke when there is a long vowel (ex: bake) or vvK (when there is a diphthong- two vowels that make one sound- ex: beak). We are also learning to story map and add details to a story.
In math: we are learning about addition arrays. An array is “an arrangement of objects, pictures, or numbers in rows and columns…”. We are reviewing odd and even numbers, digital clocks, 3-D shapes, and coins.
In writing: we are learning the “4 square” method to help us keep our thoughts organized.
Thank you for trusting me with your student.
Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, concerns or happy thoughts!
Stay well,
Mrs. Witte
